Welcome to Odyssey Inspired
We are Tara, Garrett, Atlas, and Hazel, a family of four working day jobs and trying to make the most out of our travels with our kids both domestically in the United States and internationally.
Over the past decade Tara and I have traveled long-term living out of a Honda Pilot, done vanlife with our Dodge Promaster, backpacked abroad on a shoestring tight graduate school budget, and are now navigating travel with our children in mind, but blending the best of all worlds. Our priority in life is to travel as much as possible and we do not let the regular stressors of life or having young children get in the way of that, in fact, we embrace it and want to show others what is possible.
We created this blog because our friends and family were constantly asking us 2 questions:
-
I've never heard of that place, where is it?
-
How do you even get to these places?
Most go to Rome, but what about the equally stunning Tivoli and Gran Sasso National Park? Siem Reap is famous for the Ankgor Temples, but Kep has unspoiled beaches, caves, and gorgeous peppercorn farms. Everyone knows someone who has been to Tokyo, but the food stalls in Fukuoka are where Japanese foodie tourists go and the island of Kyushu has some of the most stunning gorges and waterfalls in the world.
We want to be more than just another "30 Places to See in X" type of blogs. We want to create value-add to your travel with downloadable itineraries long and short format, trips logs, and full details on how we book and our budgets. Our itineraries are compiled after exhaustive searches, plus we have lived all of the trips that we post and note down all of our lessons learned. We do all of the research so that you don’t have to or so that you can do as little as possible for an amazing trip. We aim to deliver the most practical lessons we have learned over the years and want to help you make the most of your travel and your budget.
